How you can use 'Tick Tock Today' in Education Organisations

When working with Education organisations, we often come across the need for a HubSpot property which holds today's date on individual records. Up until now, this has only been possible by creating a complex combination of workflows, made a little easier when clients have access to Ops Hub.

Hapily, one of HubGem's trusted partners have recently launched a new integration called Tick Tock Today, available on the HubSpot app marketplace, which solves this problem! Tick Tock Today is super easy to install (literally within a couple of clicks) and puts today's date on every record of an object of your choosing, and keeps it updated.

Tick Tock Today is free when only used on one object, which we usually find suffices for Education organisations as this is only really needed on the Deals object. However, you can pay a small fee (an additional $9 per object) to have Tick Tock Today across multiple objects in your HubSpot account.

I love this handy new integration and it has got me thinking about different ways that this could be used by our clients.

1. Easily calculate a student's age

Something that is useful for pretty much every one of our clients! By using a calculated property, you can now easily calculate a student's age by working out the time between a student's age and the Tick Tock Today property on a Deal record.

2. Ensure emails don't send after a specific date in a workflow

By adding the Tick Tock Today property to the enrolment criteria for an email-sending workflow, you can ensure that your emails do not send after a certain date in case you forget to switch this workflow off. Particularly useful for promoting open events where it is crucial emails do not send after an event has ended.

3. Run workflows on a daily basis without Ops Hub

Do you have workflows which you would like to run on a daily basis to update records? Use 'Tick Tock Today is known' as your enrolment trigger and ensure that re-enrolment is switched ON to enrol records into workflows each day.

4. Make full use of the 'Time between' function in calculated properties

Use calculated properties to calculate the time between other date properties and Tick Today Today. For example, the time between someone's first enquiry and today's date, useful for knowing whether you need to reach out to a Contact who hasn't been engaged with for a while.
