HubSpot have recently announced some significant additions to their HubSpot software that will help businesses and education providers alike improve the impact of their sales, marketing and admissions efforts.

The additions, announced at HubSpot's annual INBOUND event - online for 2020, give organisations greater ability to unify their marketing, sales, admissions and customer service efforts and build a delightful customer experience.

HubSpot's Chief Product Officer Christopher O'Donnell said, “HubSpot is here to help businesses adapt to any new normal that comes their way. Over the past year, we have been working to add deep flexibility and power to our already easy-to-use software, and the features we’ve announced today are set to help businesses not only survive, but thrive, in the new economic environment.”

The latest announcements include:

Custom Objects

This is going to offer huge potential for organisations to personalise HubSpot in new ways by adding custom objects alongside the existing objects (Contacts, Companies, Deals, Tickets and Products).

We will be sharing some inspiration for using the new Custom Objects feature in coming weeks on our blog, but some initial ideas include:

  • Applications
  • Enquiries
  • Open Days & Visits
  • Boarding & Accommodation
  • Alumni Information
  • Sponsorships
  • Memberships
  • ... anything your organisation needs!

Custom Objects are available in all Enterprise Products. Find out more.

Custom Objects feature offers colleges more flexibility than ever before to customise and report on specific areas of their student's journey from stranger to enrolment. In our '5 Ways Custom Objects Can Improve College Marketing an Admissions' blog we explore using custom objects within the education sector for education agent / consult management and short course / summer school attendees,

Scalable Pricing

Focus your budget and time on the contacts that you actually market to, and enjoy free non-marketing contact storage for all the rest (up to one million contacts).

Coming October 21, 2020, this new scaled contacts pricing makes individual contacts cheaper as you grow. You can modify the amount each month, allowing you to adapt to the ever-changing conditions of your business.

This is perfect for organisations who do not need to market to certain contacts in their database. You can now keep these contacts in HubSpot at no extra cost, allowing you to still store and report on those contacts.

Improvements to the HubSpot Ecosystem

As organisations rapidly adjust to the new normal, many are facing unique challenges that require unique solutions. To help companies find the right service provider to help them thrive in the digital-first world, HubSpot’s Solutions Directory has undergone a complete redesign — including upgraded search functionality, a self-service listing experience, and a refreshed new look.

Additionally, HubSpot’s App Marketplace has been enhanced to help businesses build a tech stack suited to the demands of the digital-first economy. Remote work apps such as Slack and Zoom have been updated, while new apps including Microsoft Teams (beta) have been added to the marketplace, which is now home to over 500 apps that integrate seamlessly with the HubSpot platform.
