Need some content inspiration? Look no further. Here are ten springtime blog ideas to help drive traffic to your school website.

As the seasons change and Spring is in the air, schools are busy places; with exam preparation, Open Days and a focus on driving admissions for the following September.

Here are some blog ideas for your school to help you achieve your content goals this season:

  • 'A day in the life' - ask one of your students to talk about a day in the life of your school. Ideal for those students who enjoy writing, they can describe the food they ate, the lessons they had and the co-curricular activities they enjoyed.

  • Success stories - choose a subject area each month and focus on some of the top student success stories from the academic year so far. Celebrating the success of a department will help to engage teachers with your marketing activities, showcase the excellent work of your students and of course show the wider world how great your school is!

  • Revision tips - with exam season looming, help students, their parents and beyond by sharing your expertise and recommending some revision techniques. Remember, inbound marketing is all about helping your audience when and where is most convenient for them.

  • Grammar Day (Wednesday 4th March) - a great day to raise the profile of your English Department. Share some of your best learning resources to the wider community via a blog post. Get creative with it and make something memorable, then use the trending hashtags to join in with the wider conversation on social media.

  • World Book Day (Thursday 5th March) - another good one for your English Departments here. Schools are typically very good at getting involved in this day. Think outside the box, if your students are dressing up to mark the occasion, get some photos that will stand out from the crowd. Share the stories behind the costumes with some book reviews from your students.

  • Share some spring-inspired artwork - if your students have been busy working on artwork capturing the best of the season, share it and explain their inspiration behind their work. Not only does this celebrate your student successes, but it also raises the profile of your art department and the techniques they are teaching.

  • April Fools Day - go for the lighthearted approach and come up with a creative joke article to mark April Fools. If you are stuck for a topic, in our experience students have lots of their own ideas! Get them involved.

  • Work with your Food Tech students and get them to share their favourite Spring-inspired recipes. Go with a theme like 'food for picnics' or 'seasonal ingredients only' - even better if your parent community share photos of the finished dishes!

  • The Easter holidays are a welcome break for teachers and students alike, ask your students to keep a diary about their experiences during the holidays (accompanies by photos, of course) and share a holiday-round-up when everyone returns to school.

  • Share some beautiful photos of your school in the Spring, with notes about the types of flowers and plants that can be found in your grounds. Accompany the photos with a meaningful message from your Head or Principal and aim to inspire and create something memorable.
