HubSpot's latest product updates!

HubSpot have released a lot of new features recently which can be really useful for education and non-profit organisations!

Here's the most recent HubSpot updates we've been enjoying including:

Workflow date delays, Parent-Child Company Association, right sidebar customisation, custom goals, two-factor authentication and Instagram carousels!

HubSpot have released a lot of new features recently which can be really useful for education and non-profit organisations! Here are some of the ones that our team and clients have/will be enjoying:

Date Delays in Workflows

(Marketing and CMS Hubs)

 This feature can be used to space out workflow actions and time your email sends. You can now delay actions in your workflow for a certain amount of time, until a specific day or date or until an event happens.  This new update can save time by not having to keep cloning a pre-built workflow and can create a more personalised experience for your customers. 

Parent-Child Company Association in Imports

(All hubs)

There is now a 'parent company' property within the company import file. This means companies can now be directly associated as parent-child via imports. This can be done in bulk so each one doesn't have to be entered manually. This is a massive update for Teaching Hub, Schools etc who deal with multi-trust companies. This also helps to accurately reflect your data in your CRM and can save time which is very important!

New Right Sidebar Customisation in CRM Record Pages

(All Hubs)

This feature means you can now add or remove objects from the right sidebar in your CRM records. This is perfect for education as you can remove any objects you may not use like tickets and payments, which can keep your records  simple and easy to understand for your admissions  team.

As you can see here there is a lot of objects in this sidebar so could be a very good idea for your organisation to remove some and make looking at contacts easier.

Custom Goals

(Public Beta)

This update means you can create your own custom sales goals for calls, deals, meetings and ticket object and also assign your goals to a  user, team or pipeline. These can be set monthly, quarterly or annually to make sure you're staying on target. You can manage these goals using numeric properties, filters and tracking methods to reflect on the goals progress based on the goal definition. As well as managing your goals you can create reports for them to measure your impact over time. 

Required Two-factor Authentication for Professional + Accounts

(All Hubs)

Although this feature is not specific to education or non-profit organisations it is very important to take note of. As of August 22nd 2022 it has been a requirement to have two-factor authentication for Professional+ accounts. This makes sure all your data stays secure and confidential to keep your company safe and protected at all times.

Social editor 

The layout to edit or create your social posts has had a few changes. The first one is the layout, instead of a pop up appearing on the right side of the page to add copy and graphics it is now on the left hand side and you get an automatic preview on the right of what your post will look like within each social platform. 

This is a great update as you can see exactly how your post will look as you are writing it. Another new feature of this layout, which is a personal favourite of mine, is the Twitter character count. You can now see exactly how many characters you have written or need to remove to fit with the 280 Twitter character limit which makes creating copy for Twitter posts a lot easier! 

Another new update with HubSpot social tool is the ability to now create Instagram carousel posts in the editor directly, which saves time as you don't have to do them manually. To do this you can add multiple graphics (up to 10) which will automatically create the carousel for you.
